How to Measure for a Saree Blouse When Ordering Online

By Online Simaaya
What measurements are normally needed for a saree blouse?
Blouse makers commonly need bust, under-bust, waist, shoulder, armhole, sleeve length, upper-arm circumference, blouse length and front/back neck depth. Exact requirements depend on the pattern and construction. Always follow the seller’s own measurement form and confirm whether values are body or finished-garment measurements.
Before measuring
- Wear the undergarment you expect to use with the blouse.
- Use a flexible tape and keep it level, close and comfortable—not tight.
- Ask another person to help with shoulder, back and neck measurements.
- Record units clearly and do not convert inches/centimetres from memory.
Use a well-fitting blouse as a reference
If the tailor accepts garment measurements, lay a comfortable blouse flat and follow their diagram. Do not mix body and garment measurements in the same form.
